Streets To Employment & Education

The Streets To Employment & Education Program (SEE) invites youth from the Waterloo Region to apply to this 16 week program where they will learn transferrable job and life skills; skills that will enable the participants to further their education and/or be better equip them to be successful in community employment opportunities.

Youth Career Opportunity: Apply Now!

The SEE Program aims to assist young people who are experiencing significant barriers in their employment and educational pursuits. This paid program employs its participants for 16 weeks. In that time, they receive technical skills training in digital literacy, customer service and support, woodworking, online business and e-commerce, retail, point-of-sale systems, cash handling, and more! Successful participants leave the program with multiple certifications as well as professional references for their resumes.


Our Next Cohort Begins September 11th, 2023

Working Hours: Tuesday-Friday (9:30am to 5:00pm)
Pay Rate: $15.50/hour + $750.00 Completion Bonus

Application Deadline: September 8th, 2023
Start Date: September 11th, 2023
End Date: December 29th, 2023

 

Are You Eligible?

We are currently accepting applications from individuals who fit the following criteria:

  • between the ages of 15-30

  • Canadian Citizen, or Permanent Resident

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada

  • able to commit to the 16 week program

  • Not currently working

  • Not currently enrolled in schooling

  • Experiencing significant barriers to employment/EDUCATION

What To Expect

During the duration of this program you will also complete training(s) such as First Aid & CPR, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and Safe Food Handling.

You will also have the opportunity to explore ways to complete high school credits, and/or register and start Post Secondary or Apprenticeship Programs.
